I scanned them into the computer and copied them for the Little Ladies! They love them and are having a ball pretending how they believe my sisters and I were when we were little. I told them to make some of themselves, a grown up version of me, and Dave to add to the collection; but they seem to be more interested in making fairy paper dolls instead (which they are doing right now).  Perhaps tomorrow we will make some of the characters from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. That would be a fun way to recreate the story! Kudos to Robin for keeping them safe for such a long period of time; I don’t know how she was able to manage that!

What you need: cardboard from boxes found at the food store, yarn or metal rings (the smaller the better, depends on how thick you want the book to be), paper, scissors, and a hole punch. Making the book is pretty straightforward- cut, punch holes, stack and clip. It’s pretty easy.

 We make our cardboard books in all shapes and sizes for all different reasons. The Little Ladies love making books and I find they enjoy writing more in these little books! Here, I added notebook paper to my “creative”  book; it’s a place where I write ideas, doodle felty patterens and write anything I’m afraid of forgetting.  Araina’s book (top right) is about our sunflower garden with a diagram of the garden,  pictures of the flowers, how to grow them and seed packets in tow.  Fauna’s book (rectangular, manila paper) is a multiplication book (bound with yarn) where she wrote some multiplication facts.
