summer flea pics
The Summer Flea was so much fun today! I took a lot of pictures this time to show you why I’ve been away from blogland a bit- I’ve been sewing, sewing, and more sewing; AND I thought it would be nice to share how our day was spent today.
Here are some pics of the booth, I got lucky with a corner booth today. That’s Robin in the sunglasses sitting behind the tables; her and Araina were my helpers today. That’s a sweet potato vine hanging across the top of the tent, it’s made from a thrifted green wool blanket. I want to add some plush potatoes to it, but haven’t gotten to those yet.

Some critters you’ve seen before, some you haven’t. Fauna even made some plush to sell to the four legged fuzzy variety of customers- dog bones (squeakers included), they are in the shallow wooden bowl in the pic below.

My newest plush designs are rats (mice); this is the large rat

and the mini rats.

I also made some mini hedgehogs for the Summer Flea. I’m planning to add to the Etsy shop daily this week- in case you’re interested.
Araina kept herself busy by making pet rocks,

then secretly spreading them throughout the booth (people loved them).

Robin is my very dedicated helper; I bought her this vintage Marilyn t-shirt for all her help and support.

She deserves it for what we put her through today, especially for toting the little “princess” around!

Overall, today was a great success! Some 5 Orange Potatoes followers even showed up to say hello and buy some winky-eyed critters; I couldn’t believe it and I was so touched! Off to bed now, hopefully there aren’t too many typos, but I’m too tired to edit right now.
“That’s all.”

I just want to dive onto that table, snuggle in, and take a nap! So happy, so cooshy! Lovely wares….Hope you did gangbusters at the flea.
I have been MIA,
It looks as though the sale was a hit. Your table is lovely. I will look for more shop updates soon???
The booth looked great! I have been following your blog for awhile… My parents live near Columbus (I grew up there) and they went to see you at the show. They loved your stuff and bought a little hedgie – can’t wait to see it! Wished they would do this sort of stuff in SC!
Love, love the booth and so many adorable goodies!! Those pet rocks are pretty cute, too!
I’d be happy with a Marilyn shirt as payment, too. Maybe I should suggest that to my man.
lisa i am so proud of you!! look at all your work! i’ve managed to do very little creatively. with nat being home for summer and other things, it’s just been busy. well done well done well done!
Congrats! Love your set up.
wow!! You have been super busy. All of your creations look wonderful. It takes so much time to create to sell, butluckily it is something you truely love.
Great success at flea! I love those pet rocks and I’ll try to make them with my daughter!
So good Lisa! Your booth is cute, love that vine. Propr to your business and crafty minded girl, those bog squeakers look better than if I had sewn them. And I chuckled because, when my girls come see me at shows, they always find pebbles and make pet rocks too! But then they try to sell them… Ahem.
Looks Like you are off and running in this buisness of selling handmade craft. My husband calls us “carnies” and i have to admit it’s not all that far from the truth
Congratulations to your success!!
I’ve been “lurking” on your site for months but haven’t commented yet. I adore your creations and check in frequently to see what you and your girls have been up to. My son (7) loves your plushies too, and set about making pet rocks for our entire yard! I now live in Canada but used to live in Columbus and miss it terribly–especially when I am reminded by the craftiness awesomeness there like this flea. I’m so glad it went well for you!
Sounds like you had a blast! Love the new mini mice.
Lisa, I am just catching up a bit on your blog. Your booth looks wonderful and congratulations! What a successful feeling! Nicola

Your booth looks incredible! I love all the colour and it all looks so squishy! <3
Everything looks awesome Lisa. Wish we could have been there. Looking forward to the etsy updates. And yes…Araina’s pet rocks are tres cute. xo
Love your creations! We’ll definitely be watching for the etsy shop updates. Glad it was a successful day.
wow this is like the parallel universe version of my day. I too spent the day at our local summer flea market. I also got a corner booth for the first time. I made some shirts that I tie dyed and I was convinced they were so cool since I did all these intricate designs (they are posted on my blog). I only sold 3 it was so disheartening. Glad to see your day was better than mine. Not suprised your creations are magnificent!!!
Blessings,
Kat
It looks like a great booth and a great flea.
Love Araina’s pet rocks!
