news of georgia and outdoor monday

Hi there everyone. We’re still here and doing OK, but life has been a little more challenging than normal.  Poor Araina was bit by some nasty little bug last week that left her foot horribly swollen, itchy, and painful for 5 days.  It’s finally better today and she’s back to her normal spunky self. Early this evening she was enjoying some honeysuckle nectar.

Last week was final decision time about that possible move to Georgia, it was not an easy decision but we have decided that we will not be moving with Dave’s company; so some serious job hunting is going on right now. His company will be cleared out of our area and in Georgia by July 31st. I don’t think I’ve ever felt the stress that I’m feeling right now, but I’ll continue to take it one day at a time and stay positive. I know we made the right decision and good things are coming our way. If you don’t know but want to know the full Georgia story visit here.

On another note- I’ve been sewing up a storm (to calm my nerves and keep out of Dave’s hair) to increase my inventory of plush for some Columbus shows coming up in the next month. I’ve come up with a new seahorse plush and a new design for the hootenannies that I will show you on a later date.

If you are participating in Outdoor Challenge Mondays, be sure your blog link is below; if you still want to participate let me know and I’ll add you to the list.

Things definitely happen as they should – I’m also a firm believer in that. You have such a good attitude about it, I’m sure now that you guys’ve made the decision, good things and new opportunities will present themselves.

Keeping your family in my thoughts!

(I’m not sure if I’ve introduced myself before or not, so Hi! I follow you quite regularly and just couldn’t resist trying to offer my small words of comfort after reading today’s post.)

Glad to hear your girl is feeling better! And best wishes to your family on the job-hunting front…at least you don’t have to pack for a move. :-)

I know change is hard – we’ve moved many-many times – and it’s always a stressful time (even if you don’t end up actually moving)…

    …Peace be with you…

Hugs to you and your family Lisa. I wish you all the best during this time. I know job searches can be stressful, but I pray that your families search won’t be.

I’m glad Rainy is feeling better. Poor sweetie.

Remember, the universe always provides. Dave will no doubt find something.

Helen Keller said, ““When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.”

I’ve also heard it put like this – “A new door cannot open until the old door is fully closed.” And I can’t tell you how true this has been in my experience. You guys have made a tough decision but now that it is made – things will start to happen. Just you wait and see. :) Sending love and big hugs to all of you. xo

Glad to hear you’ve come to a decision & it does not require you to pack up! I’m packing right now and it’s not fun. Good luck with hubby’s job hunt. Can’t wait to see your new creations! I’d love to hear about that Cols show. We used to live there and we loved it. I’d love to get more involved with shows once Owen has gotten older.

    Anyway, be well.

I would wait for Owen to get bigger too. Finding the time to do it all has been very difficult. Time management has been hard for me being a family that doesn’t really schedule our days.

Columbus is such a great city! You would be shocked with how much things have changed the last few years.

Hi there. I’m glad your daughter is feeling better, how scary! What kind of bug was it?
I pray your husband will find a job very quickly. Everything will work out, although sometimes in life many things happen at once. It will all pass and the storm will settle down. It always does.
    I love seahorses!!! :-)
Thinking of you and your family,

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for the nice words and encouragement.
No, we don’t have a clue what bit araina, she said it was a small grub like thing. This happened to her twice last year. I think she has an intense allergy to insect bites, especially if bitten on the foot.

I’ll definitely keep you and your family in my prayers! Great outdoor photos, as always! I’m participating too, although I’m not exactly consistent with the “Monday” part; I posted this on Saturday. I’ve named my version “Get Thee To The Woods.” Thanks for the series and for encouraging outdoor play–and outdoor blogging :) Blessings!

Little RAINY’S foot, I understand shoes are hot, but, She’s so sweet everything wants a tast. Take care, and your seahorse is great, you have great creativety. (sp?) Whats great is you can figure out the structure of the pattern. Great Job. Goodluck Dave!

Poor Araina — glad to hear that her foot is healing! And good luck on the job front. I can only imagine how stressful this must be, and how hard it was to weigh all the options and make the best decision that you could for your family.

The highlight of our outdoor adventures last week was some good, old-fashioned, playing in the mud! http://semicrunchymama.wordpress.com/2010/07/12/muddy-toes/

I firmly believe things happen as they should. This Georgia thing wasn’t meant to be and thereby good things will come your way via a different journey. ;)

Are you making things for Columbus, Ohio or Georgia? My mom is in GA. I would absolutely send her your way. I am drooling already over the seahorse stuffy. Can you save me one. Each of my girls have an ocean animal associated with them. Cali is our sea horse. Can’t wait! I will be ordering a hedgehog soon. Cori is wanting one so bad. I think I shall give it to her for her birthday. The other two have owls and she a jealous. LOL

    Be happy sweet lady.
    Cheers,
    Christie

so sorry about Ariana’s foot! Good luck with the job search and this new stage. Good things will no doubt come your way.

Yikes – That’s a lot at once. Looks like Ariana’s feeling a lot better and that you’re finding some outlets for your own stress relief. We’ve been dealing with some new health challenges for Z on top of his diabetes, so I can commiserate with the need to take things a day at a time.

On to the outdoor challenge . . .We interrupted a private moment between two slugs yesterday:
