wip- star nosed mole

2010 June 24
by 5 Orange Potatoes

The star-nosed mole is a work in progress right now. I gave her a drowsy eye on one side because she is sleepy from digging so much in our yard (we have a lot of mole hills).

Of course she is winking because she knows something that we humans don’t.

I plan to add claws, a tail,  some flower tattoos, and maybe a bow to make up for the lack of ears.

Thank you all for the kind birthday wishes for Araina; they meant a lot to her!

“That’s all.”

This is great, I’ve always wanted to make a star nose mole. I love what you did with the eyes.

She is even cuter in person! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her. Araina seems older!

Oh, this little guy is seriously cute! I’ve been kind of freaked out by star-nosed Moles since finding one floating in our pool year ago ( I, too was in the pool at the time! ) :( , but seeing this one makes them seem a little less scary!!

I love the droopy eye. Are those bags under it’s eyes? Too cute. I’m going to have to show this to my mole-loving daughter. Your mole is too sweet to look like our garden mole. I’ve not seen our Mr Mole, but I am absolutely positive he has a cunning smirk on his face and a huge round tummy from eating all my worms.

we’ve had a lot of mole activity around here this year! it’s hard to get mad at them, even though they can cause some problems…

She’s a cutie of a mole! I love molehills. We don’t have them where I live in NC, although I used to have them in SC. My kids haven’t had the pleasure of tracking a molehill and stepping the earth back into place.
