our days this week
The warmth of summer is upon us and the herbs are very happy about that. I am always torn when the lavender is ready for harvest because it is always full of honeybees and bumblebees working so hard for the nectar. They just buzz at me in disgust as I chop, chop, chop away feeling guilty; but I always leave some behind for them.

We have been outdoors everyday, I find the heat and humidity to be a bit painful, but Fauna is finding creative and unique ways to stay cool- today a towel drenched in cold water did the trick.

We did a science experiment involving a sock and seeds. The specifics on that is to come.

Araina got out the permanent markers and dressed up my clothespins to make me smile while I hung the clothes to dry.

Fauna has been very busy making a new set of pet rocks.

Lots of foam painting going on too.

And the garden is blooming merrily. Here’s my bouquet for Friday’s Flowers- lavender, fairy roses, lime mint, and yarrow placed in an old shaving mug.

Have a great weekend!
“That’s all.”

I love seeing your lavender! I so wish to grow lavender and rosemary, and for some reason, neither of then do well for me!
I am definately making some of the pet rocks this week with my little one!
A rainbow week of happiness!
I love those pet rocks! And I’m so curious how experiment will end.Looking forward for results!
Oh my…I love those cheery clothespins! And your lavender is beautiful! I need to learn to prune mine–it gets so woody! And, I never cut it–I just can’t stand to disappoint the bumbles & honeys.
Our lavender will be blooming soon.
I love seeing your children’s creations.
Warm wishes for a beautiful weekend.
Looks like soooo much fun!
So much lavender! I planted new bushes this year (I didn’t realize you have to prune them way back, and mine had become a tangle of woody branches) and now I’m waiting for that sun and heat which this year is very late to come! I love all the art and experiments going on in your house, especially the happy clothes pegs:)!
I love all your lavender and your bouquet – oh so beautiful. I just love flowers.
I love the pitcher for a vase! Beautiful flowers. I just love lavender, too.
Those pet rocks are really cool, they make me smile
what a lot of fun things you’ve been doing. we are also fans of the pet rocks~ my 4 yr old discovered that these make the best little gifts for friends since she’s always wanting to make things for others
The beauty surrounding you makes me envious!! You photos capture the stillness and wonder in your life! Thanks for sharing this!
I’ll be checking back on this blog for sure!

A sock and seeds… hmm… I’m interested for more. It looks like something Lily would put together. All that heat and humidity must be hard but just think about all that grows thanks to it. We’re still wearing sweaters many days and my garden is proof. It’s a tad slow.
Plenty of pretty and lovely things… and child !
I can smell the lavender…
What lovely clothespins and rock friends indeed
foam painting? Looks so fun! …and I chuckled at your pet rocks. we have a little family of them too.
My lavender from last year has survived and blossomed. The scent is growing on me, I must say. What pretty flowers you have growing in your garden.
Look at all of that lavender! How wonderful to have something so perfect right in your backyard
Oh, look at all that lavender! I finally got around to putting a patch in this year, but will have to wait a little longer for such an abundant harvest.
OMG googly eyes on rocks!! My kids LOVE rocks and we have done tons of things with rocks but googly eyes is not one of them. My children are going to absolutely love that idea! thank you so much for posting. I also adore that your kids spruced up your clothes pins. So cute!
your lavender basket is beautiful:: best smell!
great summer fun, wonderful xx
How sweet decorating your pegs like that!
Oh I love lavender. Someday I dream about having plants big enough and healthy enough to produce that much. In MN the climate was a bit hard on them, and where we are now is clay soil. I’m still trying, but I don’t think I’ll be able to expect any flowers for at least a year maybe two. And that last photo with all of the flowers is swoon worthy.
Well, you have been busy! And what a beautiful arrangement. I’m sure those bees are very appreciative of you leaving some lavender for them.

Love all that lavender! I can’t wait to finally have a house. Our yard better be huge because my wish list of things to plant (and harvest, of course) is ever growing. What a lovely week you all had

Oh I love all that lavender. I’ve been slowing building my “crop” over the years.
Love Fauna with that cloth on her head. What a smart girl. And those clothes pegs made me smile too. Looks like a GREAT week, Lisa. xo
