sick little lady
Little crazy tonight, the little ladies had a special night planned with my dad and his wife Kay- dinner and the circus.
They both looked like this only 5 hours ago…….

They had dinner, then got to the circus, and then I got the call- Araina is sick with a headache, fever, and tummyache, AND she is crying because she feels so bad. She was complaining of a headache earlier, but was up for the circus since she has never been (personally Dave and I won’t support the circus). So off Dave went to pick her up and bring her home. So the post I have been working on this evening, making violet syrup and a recipe for a violet cooler, will have to wait. I have some news to share as well, but it will have to wait as well.
So tomorrow is the last day of the challenge, would anyone like to continue the challenge by posting one day a week? Like on Mondays? What do you think?

Have had fun with the challenge although have not always posted daily….. and it is so easy to not be able to achive outdoors time once work committments get high and / or kids get sick. Mine two have started with colds as we are moving into the cooler months here…. I am however committed to getting my kids out in with nature at least weekly… although I doubt I will be formally posting every week… I will share snippets of the activities we do together with the kids as I believe this is a critical part of their wholesome education.
It was fun participating.
Hope Ariana is feeling better. It is the weekend after all.
I think continuing the outdoors challenge is a great idea. Maybe this time we can fully participate.
Happy weekend!

Yes yes yes please, lets cary on one day a week that would be great. We hope your little lady gets well soon! XX
So sorry about Araina being sick. Hope it is just a 24 hour thing. I would love to continue this . I actually posted that in my blog that we are going to keep it up. Once a week sounds great to me. I had a few days when we were outside, I just forgot my camera. Have a great weekend and hope your sweet girl feels better soon!

Oh, poor girl! My little guy was feverish and miserable all day Wednesday from teething. No fun!
I would love to continue the challenge, especially with the warmer months coming up, I want to take full advantage of the good weather!
Aw, so sorry to hear Ariana didn’t feel well for her night out. Hope everyone is feeling better now.
We have truly enjoyed the challenge. I would love to continue it weekly!
Becca
aw, poor kid. The blog post can wait. We’ll all still be here. Hope she feels better soon!
I hope she is on the mend today! And sorry your time got short. That stinks.
Hope your little lady feels better soon!
I’ve had fun with the outdoor challenge though I haven’t done many posts … weekly would be good!
Thanks so much
Catherine
Feel better !
We would also be interested in once a week posting!

happy day!

I hope Ariana’s feeling better soon! How horribly disappointing, to fall sick and have to leave an event she’d been looking forward to enjoying!
I joined the challenge late (just last week, I think) and have to admit that even though we’re spending time outside daily, I haven’t been able to post every day. There were too many balls in the air this week, and daily postings were the thing I had to let drop. But I’d already decided that I wanted to continue the challenge through May for myself, so I’d be up for posting once a week!
Hope your baby feels better soon and your other little one steers clear, Momma! Hopefully since it came on so quickly, it will be gone quickly, as well…hugs!
Oh Lisa,
I’m sorry the girls are sick. I hope they are feeling better soon. (We don’t support the circus either.)
I think doing the Challenge once a week is a GREAT idea. I really want to keep documenting our outdoor adventures – and to share in the adventures of others. Once a week will be more manageable…for sure. -Debbie
I feel so sorry for Araina! What a disappointment – to look forward to spending an evening with her grandparents doing something special ( but I know what you mean about the circus – I only like the ones without animal acts), and to try to go even though she’s not feeling well – and to have it over come her. Poor thing. Hope it’s a quick bug and that no one else gets sick. Have a good weekend.
I feel like your little one today too
sending get well wishes to her! We will def. post once a week at least
thank you for sharing a piece of your lives with us. It has only strengthened our connection with the natural world around us. It’s soooo important for our little ones to absorb themselves in it, there are amazing discoveries everywhere which reach deep within us. May us adults remember to just BE with nature with no agendas too. Many blessings to you all!
I’m so sorry to hear Rainy is sick. Tummyaches are the worst!
I’m glad you are anti-circus. Me, too! I even waiver a little bit on my appreciation of zoos depending on the facility.
I’m good at once-a-week photos…so I say continue it!
Hope your darlin’ feels better soon.
We’d love to continue on a weekly basis…that posting schedule is more my speed!
Definitely continue on once a week, it has been great!
My daughter Violet was stricken with the same virus. Oh, the crying. She only calmed down when I rubbed her left leg. I know she was achy all over, but she had become fixated on one leg hurting.
She is on the mend now. I hope Ariana feels better soon.
I am so sorry to hear that your girls are sick. It always amazes me how quickly kiddos can go from looking just fine, to terrible sick. Hope the weekend is full of health.
blessings of love and health xxx
would love to carry on with this great project
hugs xx
I hope Araina feels better soon! And that no one else gets it… Don’t tease with the news.
We feel the same way about the circus, and it’s hard to help the kids understand when it’s in town.
Oh, how disappointing for Ariana. To look forward to a special night and then feel so lousy. I hope she feels better very soon. There will be other circuses. I think the best ones are the circuses without animals. It is easier to enjoy the acts and the amazing tricks humans can do.
You get my vote for a once a week outdoor challenge. Been easy here, as the weather has been good. I’d love to be challenged at other times of the year. Thank you for hosting this challenge. So many people, so many places, so many ideas.
We posted an outdoor May day activity photos, although the rain forced us in for the crafting part!

Oh, the poor wee chica! I hope she feels better.
Can’t wait to get my honeybaked hands on that violet syrup recipe though…my jelly came out great, I’m eager for more fun with violets!
Hi!
I would love to see this challenge continue and perhaps a flickr group also? It takes a lot of effort to photograph an outing and blog it so congratulations to you all!
I hope Araina feels better soon. I guess it’s the Spring illness season. My son has had a runny nose that just won’t stop for the past 3 days.
Once a week would be o.k.
The month long challenge was fun at the beginning, but even though Blaze plays outside every day, it was getting hard to post pictures the past couple days. I wanted to have variety to what I posted and didn’t want to seem too much like the crazy lady who follows her child everywhere with a camera. That made this challenge harder than I expected, especially the past couple days when Blaze hasn’t been feeling all that great.
I hear ya Lisa. I was the same way, posting everyday was the hard part for me too.
boo on colds…we’ve all been feeling down & are snuggling
inside by the fire =).
once a week sounds great for us , too.
love, angelina
I hope Ariana will get better soon. And please, don’t stop outdoor challenge, once a week is great idea!
I hope your daughter feels better soon. I hope she wasn’t too disappointed in missing the evening.
We would love to continue posting once a week
Here’s what we were up to today…

I’m so sorry that Ariana is so sick! I hope she feels better soon- poor sweet girl.
I am so sorry to hear your daughter is sick. My daughter has been sick as well. She was perfectly fine in the morning, but by afternoon she had a fever. It is amazing how fast illness can come on. But before you know it they always bounce back showing their beautiful smiles.
I just found your blog this past week. I LOVE it! But I am afraid I am a little late for your challenge. I would really like it if you would continue it. It will be such fun! My blog is brand new (I mean like I started it today), so this challenge will give me something to talk about.
-HUGS
Sorry to hear about the sickness. We haven’t been feeling all to great around here either, this time of year I think.
We’d love to keep up the challenge as well.
Here is what we got up to today.

I hope you little one gets better soon. My son has been a sickie this week… first time he’s ever had a fever (103!) and it’s freaking him out. He’s just crying and crying saying “make it go away!” Wishing you health!
oh, I’m so sorry to hear that!
I am definitely up for continuing the challenge (I realize I was not the queen at posting, but we were still getting out there!).
Oh no! I hope she feels better soon!
I’m definitely up for continuing the challenge once a week.

I think 50% of the pictures I see of your daughters, they are in trees! I love it.
I hope she feels better quickly, it’s amazing how fast an illness can descend on a child, and how quickly it can leave too.
I know, I noticed that too! They are always in the trees!
Feel better! My girls have strep throat so we are kind of down and out here too.
I’d love to continue the challenge once a week. I’ve loved it.
Hope she feels better. I don’t support the circus either, but I’m sure she is disappointed.
She was disappointed, but felt so bad she felt she just had to get out of there.
Fauna came home very upset about the treatment of the tigers and seeing the animals whipped, but she did enjoy the tightrope and the performances the people did.
I hope Ariana feels better! I’ve enjoyed the outdoor challenge. I haven’t posted anything since Sunday, but I will say that I’ve been taking pictures of our outdoor activities this week, and I’m hoping to post some of them tomorrow. (I was going to do that tonight, but it’s already past my bedtime!
) I’m up for an outdoor challenge post once a week, absolutely. Have a great weekend, and blessings to your sick one (and I hope everyone else stays healthy.)
