ideas and discoveries from outdoor challenge participants

2010 April 16
by 5 Orange Potatoes

Today I thought it would be fun to share some cool ideas and discoveries from this week’s outdoor challenge participants-

Debbie and her son Isaac, of  The Loving Path, went on a scavenger hunt to find as many colors as possible-

Andrea and her daughter Natalie, of where ada likes to wonder, made mudcakes-

Jen and her daughter, from Paint Cut Paste, made medicine wands from treasures found outside-

AG’s daughters of elemental, made burritos for their chickens consisting of grass, flowers, chives and an earthworm of course…I believe the worm is tied in a knot here!

Now for some nifty discoveries made by children this week-

Dawn and her little ones, from To the Outskirts, found tadpoles-

Becky and her son Z, from Wide Open Campus, released a handful of praying mantis babies -

Silas and Levi, from The Binker Files,  found spotted salamander eggs-

Of course I can’t leave without a pic of my little ladies from today. They kept themselves very busy making dams and ponds with our water hose. Love those muddy bums!

Have a wonderful weekend outdoors everybody!

These look great! Today we found the gem Spring Creek Audubon Prairie Center(http://www.springcreekprairie.org/) and were fortunate enough to watch an expert bird banding! The people were so nice and even let our kids pet the birds before they released them. A fabulous experience for my two little ones!
PS-Are we able to put yoru Play Outside button on our blogs? When I try to click on it, it doesn’t allow me to snag it for my blog?

I’m thrilled you liked to me. Thanks!
however I am not sure how I feel about my claim to fame being tied worms. Please don’t report me and my girls to PETA ;) We really are kind to living creatures….
