row’s post may be even later than usual, I am helping my friend dye 400 yards of fabric! In all honesty, I took extra pics today because I knew I won’t be able to photo my girls tomorrow while they are outside. They will be going outside though, I just won’t be there to photo them. ;)

I’ve always liked dandelions. We don’t have quite that many around here, though. We have lots of clover flowers right now.

Oh I love this! I was so in love with dandelion chains when I was a little girl!

  4. April 10, 2010

So sweet. All of them! I love it.
I am not joining the challenge, but there is never a shortage of outdoors here, so I will join you all in spirit and look forward to seeing everyone else’s photos.

You know, I had read that “save the dandelions” post last year, and it was the only other time I’ve been here. What a coincidence. (I added to you to my reader now, though). So, my son is obsessed with picking dandelions. He 21 months and only has a handful of short sentences that he can say, and one of them is “I pick it” in reference to dandelions. lol.

I posted a few pics yesterday for the last three days of the challenge.

I adore dandelions and never could understand why people would want to ride their lawns of such beauties! I had the pleasure of seeing a presentation during a 1998 SW FL Regional Planning Council meeting made by Dr. Bill Hammond of FL Gulf Coast University about a program he was starting. It is loosely based on Richard Louv’s book and all about connecting children with nature and how it enriches their lives. Your goddesses and their gifts are lovely…

They all look so cute! I love the pic of Goddess Maili with her missing teeth. So sweet!

I’m sure we have dandelions up and out in Houston. Sadly, none in our backyard at the moment.

what an amazing burst of yellow! I did an dandelion post last week – when they pop out they are everywhere. Looks like the girls had so much fun.

  16. April 9, 2010

whoa, loving the dandelion links! we usually make a lot of dandelion greens too!

  17. April 9, 2010

They look so cute! You guys have dandelions already? We had snow flurries this morning. BRRR!!!

  18. April 9, 2010

I would take lots of pictures too if spring was bursting all around us like that! We’re still waiting for dandelions. Plenty of outdoor time everyday though, today visiting the garlic that is coming up in the garden :)

I did do a bit of a post today, although it is obviously an older picture…

Loving the dandelions by the way. We have another month before we really see many of them. We fried the heads, battered in olive oil last summer. YUM!

And we love the syrup. I want to try wine this year. Fingers crossed!

  20. April 9, 2010

I love your dandelion posts! Beautiful Goddesses indeed!

  21. April 9, 2010

What beautiful goddesses :) Dandelions are so fun! We haven’t had many dandelions here yet, but I will keep all your activities and recipes in mind. Thank you for the ideas.

    We had a worm day today… http://urbancottagehomeschool.blogspot.com/2010/04/great-outdoor-challenge-worms.html

  22. April 9, 2010

Oh that looks like such fun! But as my eldest learned last Spring, “Dandelions make mama achoo.” :)

  23. April 9, 2010

Oh, I’d forgotten about your dandelion cookie recipe; thanks for the reminder. The kids have been so into eating dandelions this week, I think they’d love to try this recipe!

  24. April 9, 2010

Ha! I was scrolling down your pictures and then was like…wait a minute… :) Love the goddess looks! Elizabeth does that with clover flowers alot in the summer. I’m so glad the dandelions are back. Yay!

  25. April 9, 2010

Wow! So many Goddesses…and all so lovely.
We don’t have dandelions yet. Well, lots of the greens, but no blooms. I can hardly wait to make the cookies. We wanted to last year but by the time I found the recipe…most of our danelions were gone. Isaac kept collecting them…but then they just wilted. :( Oh and so nice to see all that colour. So very SPRING!
