our day- outdoor style
The last 2 days have been about being outdoors.
Studying buds and twigs (more of this study to come).

Admiring the blooming forsythia or as Araina calls it, “the bush full of sunshine.”

Picking and finding some of Mother Nature’s treasures….
Araina’s rules to picking flowers-
1. If you see a bee on a flower, wait for the bee to finish her job before picking.
2. Pick only the flowers that the bees have already visited.

Beautiful bluejay feather found by Araina.

Fauna, my monkey child, hanging in the apple trees.

Eating the first wild edibles of Spring……yummy chickweed!

This little creeping plant is worth knowing, we love it around here; it’s good in salads or just by itself! Time to harvest it for herbal remedies as well! I will probably have a post about this wonderful plant on another day.

“That’s all.”

What a great story thank you very much for sharing with us.

I want to subscribe to your blog, do you have newsletter ?
Great website , love the template. Seriously considering migrating to this blog platform now!
Terrific rules! It looks like you have wonderful weather right now and are enjoying it as a family.
So glad to see spring really making her presence known! It seems to come here slowly (the climate is similar to the one back home in New England), but every time I see a sign of it, I jump for joy.
I love the “bush full of sunshine”. Lots of fun to be had outside. I hope your package arrived.
“Bush full of sunshine…” Love it!
We’ve been getting the most out of the sunshine around here, as well. Thank goodness that all is right again wtih the world!

This looks like some great outdoor time. I am really interested to see your twig and bud study soon, that looks wonderful
Please do tell us what creeping plant is and how you use it. So far that only thing blooming here are daffodils, not even the forsythia are blooming yet.
Happy days to you and yours!
Love the bluejay feather! Go Araina! I also love her description of the forsythia. Enjoy your days outdoors!
These fabulously Spring pictures have certainly blown my cobwebs away. Your girls are having so much fun whilst they learn x
Araina has the best picking rules!
You know, I have never seen Chickweed before. I wonder if I will catch sight of one in this continent?
Very reasonable flower picking guidelines! Sounds like something my Ava would come up with. “I am not afraid of bees because I am such good friends with them. They are used to seeing me pick their flowers”
I am so in love with your bulb flowers with the little lamb! So precious!
Can’t wait to hear more about the tree branch study.
Chickweed, oh how I wish we had some right now
I love Araina’s “bush full of sunshine” and her flower picking rules.
The bees say thanks Araina. I love her bee rules. We too have been loving outside. This weekend is supposed to be ‘hot’.
oh, forsythia! How I miss it…
Wonderful! Such pretty images.
I love your bud studies–I’m planning on some nature studies around here, too.
Did you see our little hyacinth playmate on my blog? Stop by & meet him!
Love your nature projects! Your girls are getting such an education… So much more than just what we learn from books…
It’s a lovely post. I too adore the blue jay feather. We don’t see those here or maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.
It’s very sweet that they let the bee’s have first go at the flowers. I don’t think we have chickweed here either. Not nearby. I am looking forward to dandelions. I want to try dandelion wine this year.
Have you ever give it a go?
What gorgeous flowers! I love the arrangement of color found in them all. We too have been outside for the past two days and simply can’t get enough of it!!! And … we’re all about our Forsythia bush too … “bush full of sunshine,” I like it. Gonna share that one with the kids tomorrow
Beautiful! Lovely bluejay feather, too – so lucky
What a colorful spring day you’ve had … looking forward to reading more about the buds/treebranches as you study.
Best wishes
