dare to kiss a toad?

2010 March 24
by 5 Orange Potatoes

I dared Fauna to kiss the “first toad of Spring-”

Now being 8 years old, you can’t let a dare go by……..

She did it and he actually winked at the camera! ;)

Ok, so he’s no prince, but he’s no frog either!

Now Araina, do you dare?

Of course Rainy did not dare, but she kind of tried!

“That’s all.”

The third photo in this series is fabulous – it looks as though the toad is saying something, or simply smiling. Thanks for such a funny, cheerful post x

    That’s cute! love, Beth

  6. March 25, 2010

Great pictures! I love that Fauna dared to do it!

  7. March 25, 2010

That’s so cute! He may not be a prince, but your sweet girls look like little princesses.

  8. March 25, 2010

HA HA!! Cute! And the frog actually looks kind of cute too ;)
I once dared my girls too, my middle girl did it without hesitation, and the oldest didn’t at all :)

  9. March 25, 2010

That’s awesome! Brave little girls, and one adorable little toad!!! Love it!

  10. March 25, 2010

    Sweet brave girls!

  11. March 25, 2010

I would never, ever dare to kiss a toad, a frog or anything that resembles one. You have some very brave girls… but the question remains, did YOU kiss it too?

  12. March 25, 2010

That’s one brave girl you’ve got there. Not sure I could have kissed him, but I think I would have wanted to. :) In the sixth picture down it looks like the toad is smiling. I think he was quite happy with Fauna’s kiss. xo

Hilarious post! I love that the toad winked when she kissed him. Yep, he knows the story and the jokes on Fauna ’cause he’s no frog. I wonder how many times he’s been kissed in his life?

  14. March 25, 2010

Oh my goodness, those photos are priceless! Love them! I think my oldest would kiss it and the youngest would say “No way!” Hmm. I’ll have to try it out on them next time we find a toad around. What type of camera do you have? Love the way the photos turned out.

  16. March 25, 2010

    Ohh how very PRECIOUS!
It’s great you captured it in photos. That connection with nature is tremendous :)

    Happy Springtime!

Great set of pics! Wonder what that toad thought?….can you imagine the tales he shared with his buddies that night :)

Very fun post. I am not sure I would have kissed him, but I bet one or both of my kids would have.

  18. March 25, 2010

Adorable! I always love the pictures of your girls and their adventures.

  19. March 25, 2010

Love it! Wish we could find some toads round here…..

  20. March 24, 2010

Oh my goodness! Those pictures, love them! I remember playing with toads and frog when I was little. I haven’t seen any since the girls have been born and I sooo want them to have that experience.

super cute, magical and disgusting idea… I love it!

  22. March 24, 2010

Love it! That toad actually looked cute (although not so kissable to me…).

  23. March 24, 2010

He’s pretty cute for a toad, lol.

  24. March 24, 2010

Love it! (Apparently that is too short to count as a comment and I’ve been asked to write more but Love it! just totally sums it up!!)

  25. March 24, 2010

I’m impressed she did it! It’s great that she holds him too – brave girl you’ve got there!

  26. March 24, 2010

Fantastic photos! Your girls are adorable. And so is the toad.

This is too wonderful! To bad no prince materialized (that she would marry after she got her college degree and was a fully materialized woman, of course!).

  28. March 24, 2010

I love the frog pictures. They are awesome!

  29. March 24, 2010

What a precious set of photos! I love it!

  30. March 24, 2010

Fauna’s a brave little lady! I’m afraid I’d be with Araina. Those are fantastic shots though. :)

HA! You wouldn’t ever catch me kissing a toad either. I do kiss our turtles though!

  31. March 24, 2010

You are a great family :)

  32. March 24, 2010

It’s nice that you let (some parents don’t) your girls experience nature and teach them about it. We learn so much more from it than in books and classrooms.

  33. March 24, 2010

I used to love catching toads as a kid, although I don’t think I ever kissed one. I love the look on Fauna’s face in the first photo — so inquisitive.

  34. March 24, 2010

I’m with Araina! I might try…but that’s just too ewwww for me. I’ll wink at him though. ;)

  35. March 24, 2010

aaaahhhh, LOVE these photos! Your girls rock. hard. :D

AAAAHHHHH! I can’t believe she did it!! Oh my gosh! I’m just impressed they held that frog! Lily probably would but I’m a look and don’t let it touch me kind of gal.
