photographing our day

We spent the afternoon outside today and the camera came along. I caught my cutie pie little sis sitting in an apple tree, I had to get a shot of her! She has such a great style and an amazing wardrobe full of vintage clothing.  To see more of her amazing wardrobe visit her Flickr site- half past a freckle. She loves posting on Flickr, I know there’s a blogger in her just trying to get out, would love to get her to blog about vintage clothing!

We had quite a surprise, when out of the same tree Robin was sitting in, came an American Woodcock! I have never seen one of these long-billed birds before around here before and I think my geeky excitement scared him a bit. At least Robin was able to get some great shots of him.  My photos were really BAD! Thanks Robin!

Here’s another photo from The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, fantastic site to do your bird research by the way! They have recorded bird calls too.

After the excitement of our new found bird friend, I was running around photographing anything green.  Love the chartreuse color of the moss,

and the hyacinths springing from the ground.

And of course I had to photograph my two little beauties!

 Little purple wack-a-do!

The photos weren’t over there, I had to photograph some bags for my mom, she is hoping to open an Etsy shop soon…..ahem, I mean I will have to open the shop for her. She is just getting her very first computer tomorrow; Fauna and Araina are prepared to give her lessons. Oh, this is going to be a long weekend!

.

And the final shot is of my workspace, new blushing Have a Heart Monsters!

Enjoy your weekend!

I love your blushing monsters! And I laughed out loud about your mom’s first computer. And the fact that your small children are goin gto give her lessons. That’s the world we’re living in! Her bag is beautiful, though. I am totally excited that you spied that bird AND got a picture. And last but not least, I must pipe up and help to convince your little sis to start her vintage clothing blog! Looks (and sounds) like she has alot to offer.

(ps I linked to your spring birds today from my blog)

I love the dress that your sister is wearing! That is so cute.
I am always amazed when we spot new birds in our area. The boys keep a bird book in their nature pack, and it is always something special to discover a new creature.

Love the pics of your woodcock. Have to complain that robin rarely smiles in her pics. Such a lovely sunny girl needs to be less stingy of her smiles.

I’m jealous! We’re in the midst of a deluge around here, so no outside play, but lots of board games and impromptu naps! Great photos about your day!

I love the picture of your sister. So cute. In fact, I loved the outfit so much I looked through many of her pics. Adorable. I wish I were brave enough to dress so cute.
And I love the close ups of the kids. My favorite way to take photos of my girls.

What lovely photos… love the green (I was so very tempted to buy a little pot of Irish moss today, but I opted for a Raspberry instead…now I think I’ll go back and get the moss!). Love the bag, and the girls, and the monsters, too :) !

You’ve got to be known at all the local thrift stores as the thrifted sweater snatcher by now. Have you found about a gazillion sweaters by now!? Love those wobbly eyed hearties.

Everything looks fabulous. Our hyacinths are coming up too…and tulips and garlic and chives. The magnolia buds are about to burst. I can hardly wait for things to warm up a bit more. Although I can’t complain, it was 15 degrees Celsius here yesterday. Oh, and your girls are indeed beauties. So is your sister. Love her dress. Happy Weekend Lisa. xo
