weekend projects

by 5 Orange Potatoes

We have spent a lot of time outside in the snow this weekend, but due to the freezing cold temps I kind of prefer to be cozy and warm inside-

Making little hoot owls for valentine gifts.

Working on a post for the wonderful online publication of Rhythm of the Home.

Painting with cheerful colors to add some color to our black and white world that is outside our windows right now.

Admiring 8 amazing dishrags I received in the mail yesterday from my blogger friend Karen of Mimi-n-Moe’s Mom.

Working on ”our take” of conversation hearts. After the paint dries on the heart-shaped rocks we will write some loving words and phrases; the phrase ”text me” will NOT be included.

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

    I love those paint-stained fingers!

Those hoot owls look fun too. My daughter’s suddenly really interested in sewing. She’s been making all these felt hats for her stuffed puppies to wear, so I can’t wait to show her your owls. I’m sure she’d love to make something similar, but with felt!

Okay, I love those little candy hearts, especially when you leave the bag open overnight and they get a little softer. (I kinda like my enamel) But, upon seeing Text Me, and other ridiculous newbies last year…I’ve decided to boycott them. So, not even when they go on sale after the big day, will I be getting them.

Though, I do miss the purple ones.

(love your VDay creation! how cute is that?)

Love your washclothes. I have become addicted to crocheting them. We are no longer using napkins and very little paper towels.

My daughter bought a box of conversation hearts the other day and we were quite dismayed to find one that said “Text Me”….
