bandit

Sorry everybody, posting, blogging, and normal day to day doings have been a little difficult for me this week. I’ve been experiencing some sinus related vertigo for the past few days and am having trouble kicking it. (Any ideas?)

*Remember the GIVEAWAY ends tomorrow, I hope to announce the winner tomorrow evening. I am FLOORED by the response, thanks so much for entering and leaving your opinions. I just love the support of this community!  Also, I’m leaving links to my Twitter   and Facebook pages, if you have accounts in either place I’d love to “see” you over there!  And the picture up there- Fauna has been playing a bandit since the weekend and causing all kinds of ruckus around here! I’m really quite surprised with what a little hellion she has been! Now for some warm tea, warm sinus compresses and bed. I hope all is well and everyone is enjoying this time of year.

My aunt had vertigo and I seem to remember she went to the chiropractor. Feel better soon! It doesn’t sound fun to have!

I have read an artical about Apple Cider Vinegar……so I tried and it helped alot for me. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is one favourite remedy for stopping sinus infections. More people knew about this amazing home remedy for sinus infections. The idea is to take apple cider vinegar before the sinus infection occurs, which for most people is at the start of allergies, colds, flu, etc. Apple cider vinegar is taken either as a daily tonic or at the first sign of an allergy or cold (i.e., sinus headache, stuffy nose, watery eyes), one can completely stop the histamine response or allergic reaction. Mix 1-2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water and gulp the mixture at once. Use it 3-4 times a day for 4-6 days. Improvement occurs often in 1 hour, latest in 1 day. If you don’t notice any ease of the sinus infection after 2 days, stop taking the remedy.

Most of the people desire warm onto the congested sinus area. You may use a hot-water bottle, an infrared lamp, a warm flannel or simple blow warm air from a hair-drier.
Daily salt water rinses of your sinuses is a way to prevent sinus infections altogether.

Of course, it takes some practice doing it manually so you might want to purchase a Neti pot which is perfectly shaped to tip into a nostril. This special pot has a well inside in which you can mix your warm water and salt. I dont have a Neti Pot, so I make use of an empty nose drop bottle and drop / spray the mixture in both my nostrils. You can also sniff it up and spit it out. Drink then Brufens (Inza) and Stilpain tablets for the fever and also Vit C. These was my doctor’s advice. IT WORKS FOR ME !!!!!!!

Vertigo is AWFUL!! I tend to get it every once in a while. I hope yours passes soon…

Well, I went to the doctor a few years back with an inner ear infection and severe nausea while walking. He told me to take something like Dramamine (but you may not want to depending on your personal views on meds. I was desparate and did it.) and to (this might not make much sense) flex your eardrums. Lol… let me try to explain it… pretty much, hold your nose, blow until your ears stop up, then try to pop your ears by opening your mouth really wide until the eardrums release the pressure. This will some how drain the fluid behind the eardrum. All I know is that it worked and when my allergies are really really bad, I do that with my ears and I haven’t had an issue since. Lol… hope that amazing description helps.

So sorry to hear about your vertigo. That sounds seriously not fun at all. Do get better soon won’t you? Perhaps you should get your girl to ask the infection to ‘stand and deliver!’

I’ve had a couple mild bouts of vertigo this season. I don’t have a cure, but I find having a night light on overnight can help me. Then, if I roll over or wake up in the middle of the night, the light helps me find my bearings and not feel so dizzy and ill.
Also, steamy, hot showers in AM & PM seem to kind of help relieve some nasal tension. Hope you beat it soon! ~H

I, too, suffer from vertigo on occasion. What helps me is niacin. You can buy it in the vitamin section of any grocery or drug store. You will want a minimum of 50mg. Do not get the slow-release (aka time released). A little warning, you most likely will have a “reaction” within the first 20 minutes. This is normal. You will feel warm and flushed. Your skin may turn a little red, like you have a rash, and itch. This is only temporary and should last no more than 30 minutes. It is painless but if you don’t know the effects of niacin you might think you are having a horrible allergic reaction! Niacin has also helped my aunt with her verigo. Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear about the vertigo. My husband has had it once or twice. The Dr. office flushed out his ear canals and it seemed to help.

I don’t have any vertigo solutions but had to comment on the bandit’s shirt. I’m no expert of in the art of bandrity but that may work against her:) Love it!

It’s happening to a lot of people right now because of all the weather changes. Warm, cold, warm, cold. I’ve never had to deal with this before, but I am now. Can’t give you any remedies to help though. If you figure something out, please share. I thought maybe mine was a reaction to my dentist hitting a nerve or something during my cleaning, but I’ve been blowing so much my head aches and I feel like I’m drowning from the draining. I know, Yuck!

Hoping you’re feeling better soon. At least Fauna is styling while she’s being a bandit. That’s one great outfit! xxoo

The funny thing is I have very little drainage. I think that might be the problem, it’s all going to my ear canals and not out my nose.

  20. December 16, 2009

So sorry you are under the weather! Get well soon, will be thinking of you!

I just got over a bout of meningitis from a sinus problem i was having. Vertigo, vomiting and some serious mind blowing headaches.
Im no expert but be careful, garlic and olive leaf extract and what ever you use to keep infections at bay would be handy
