lulu owl and holly brooch

Hi there friends! I feel a little out of touch because of the insane schedule of the past weekend. I don’t do well with rushing around, but I survived and actually got some sewing done in the process.

I made Lulu Owl and George Gremlin out of a soft wool sweater; I think these two are my favorite so far!  By the way, I am so loving all the folks out there that have been making the gremlins and sharing photos and stories of them with me.  I’m so glad people are finding that tutorial and pattern useful.

I am in the process of making holly leaves and berries out of felt for brooches and hairpins.

I have been sewing buttons on these cute little clutches made from sweater sleeves (my mom made them, I just sewed on the buttons). The bottom one is my favorite and has made it’s way into my giant bag which I carry everywhere. I LOVE stripes!

This week will be another busy one for me, one more fair to go this weekend; and my 10 year old computer is angry with me because I have close to 6000 pictures stored in it and little storage left. Needless to say it is VERY SLUGGISH and is making publishing a post VERY time consuming. I need to delete the bad photos and upload the good to Flickr before the computer blows up on me! HA! My hubby won’t even touch this computer right now, he always ends up saying a few not so nice words and slamming the mouse around! I will catch up with everyone as soon as possible and try to post when I can. There are some future giveaways and Etsy shops underway right now too. Info on those coming soon! I hope you are all well!

I love how they match. Adult sweater I’m supposing. The cuffs for the pockets was a nice touch. You and your mom should just have a full blown “recycle your sweater” shop with all of the cool creations you come up with!

I adore Lulu the owl– is that a little apron she’s wearing? The holly brooches are lovely. My sister makes tote bags from re-purposed wool sweaters and it’s such a great way to reuse them. The clutches are very cute!

Super cute, Lisa! As always. Don’t you ever mess up??? I’m starting to doubt your mortality… Angel of Crafting, maybe? I love the sweater bags! LOVE THEM! Especially the Nordic patterned one.

I did redo the faceless monster, but the owl with legs met his demise. Thanks for the gremlin tutorial! :)
