 weekend collage

A quick update on what we have been up to for the last few days: 1. Robin and I have been helping my mom at a craft fair, she makes purses from re-purposed sweaters- Etsy shop in the future. 2. We took the little ladies ice skating  for the first time, we had a blast! 3. We celebrated a birthday with best friends (at the skating rink). 4. I have been sewing owls, gremlins and brooches for a future Etsy shop. 5. Making wool kitty jingle toys. 6. Cooking and lots of eating! One more day of the craft fair and one more Thanksgiving dinner this weekend. Hope to be back to regular blogging on Monday. I hope you are all doing well!

Lisa

Good to hear that you are busy with family and crafting! It is always fun to have both on hand! My mom makes purses out of old fashioned table placemats! She sells them at craft fairs in Indiana. Glad to see some of your mother’s creations! Thanks for encouraging always.

Oh look at all that icy fun!! I haven’t been around too much lately (time is not always a friend) and I’ve missed seeing what your lovely girls…and you have been up too! Busy I see.
    I’m loving your Mum’s bags too…very cool.

How nice that you and your mom share a love of repurposing fibers. Good luck with your Etsy shop!

Okay, that bag on the top right corner? It looks like a face. The blue/lavender stripes on the straps are the eyes.. the top of the side pocket is the nose.. the bottom of the pocket is the mouth. Just the way it’s hanging makes it a perfect face! Like those rocks in the movie Labyrinth that talk – know what I mean?

I LOVE your Mom’s bags! And I am so happy you are opening an Etsy shop, cannot wait to see it! I would love to do that one day, but I cannot see it happening anytime soon, I hardly have time to finish my laundry right now! ;)

I love the re-purposed sweater purses! I can’t wait to see them in an Etsy shop! I’m going to try your kitty jingle toys next week with my little one – fingers crossed. I’ve never worked with felt, but I think it’s time.

I loved reading that your daughter is a budding herbalist. My daughter, at 2 1/2 is all about the plants. When we go hiking she wants a taste of the lemonade sumac berries, the chokecherries, serviceberries – even now, all dried up, she chews them like gum!

    Looks like so much fun!

Love the ice skating pics! I don’t do ice-skating. I’ve done it in the past and I’m balance-challenged. I came away from it with a bruise on my belly button – still don’t know how I managed that. My husband can ice skate in his wranglers, but I can’t ice skate to save my life.
