williamsburg, virginia

We spent the past weekend in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. I went down with my sisters and the little ladies (ugh, 10 hours in the backseat with the little ladies). We met up with my grandparents, my dad, and his wife Kay. We had a great time. I love getting together with the 4 generations. I came home and found that I had only taken 100 pictures, that is soooooo unlike me! However, I still have some decent ones to share:

This little wren gave us a cheerful little welcome!

My favorite part of the visit, the fife and drums. Loved how they were perfectly in step with each other! I could listen to them all day!

Fauna enjoying cranberry sorbet on an almond cookie, I was enjoying a Dutch coffee at the time. Like the hat?

Fauna learning how to play hoops. HA, this was quite entertaining even though Fauna ended up with a bloody lip in the end. Surprised the college student made it through without any bruises or bleeding! Fauna eventually got the hang of it!

 Loved this colonial mask!

A collage of photos taken by my sister Robin. She was the photographer on the trip!

OK, enough of that. Isn’t it bad enough that we make our families sit through vacation photos!

By the way, thanks for voting for me for Best Unschooling Blog 2009, I seem to be doing pretty well.

Love that hat! Looks like a very fun get-away (ok, maybe not the 10 hours in the backseat part….) and reminds me that we need to start taking more small trips. There are so many wonderful things to see nearby!

I’m from Virginia originally, and Williamsburg is one of my favorite places. We got to visit there in early December one year, for illumination night. It was so beautiful. I think I was in fifth grade, but I remember it all so well, especially the colonial Christmas decorations and wreaths. It looks like you had fun. Beth

Great pictures! The mask is a little creepy, though.
You have much more self-control about your vacation pictures than I do. I think I posted about three days worth when we went to Williamsburg last Christmas.
Your sister’s photos are wonderful, too.
