off to williamsburg

2009 November 6
by 5 Orange Potatoes

We are all packed to go, excited, and dreaming of our adventure to Williamsburg, Virginia. We are leaving bright and early Friday morning and will be back Monday or Tuesday. Fauna found a cozy perch on the luggage to read a good book.

fauna ready for travel

The large piles of books to be read in the car are going to weigh the car down; but will hopefully keep the bickering to a minimum!

Bringing a lot of gremlins and critters that need hand-stitching; great way to pass the 10 hours in the car. I’m working on a new owl pattern, I’ll share if it turns out!

stitching a lot

I won’t be posting for the next few days; the family wants me blog free for the trip.  Have a safe and healthy weekend!

Just found your blog and am so happy I did!! I am one of those “I can’t make anything mums” but lately have been getting this real tug in the direction of knitting or crocheting…..We are about to take off and roam for a while around the globe and so knitting and creating could be a valuable tool during all those long plane trips and airport waits.
Thanks for the inspiration and enjoy your journey :)

Such a gorgeous picture of Fauna! Hope everyone enjoys the trip. The stack of books reminds me of family vacations when I was young– I’d bring a stack of Nancy Drew mysteries!

I adore Fauna’s hat in the picture. She could be a model for an American Girl Doll. And those Gremlins are adorable. So colorful — I want to scoop them all up!

Oh! We love Williamsburg–in fact, Michael & I spent out honeymoon there. We have not had the chance yet to take Benjamin. I know he’d enjoy it. Not to mention, I’d love to buy Michael a three-cornered hat!! He keeps saying he’d like to bring back the three-cornered hat (HA HA!!)

    Have a safe & happy trip…

Eat at King Arm’s Tavern. Sip coffee at the Barnes & Noble. Buy a William & Mary t-shirt and dream of being a privileged college student. Oh…I’m so jealous…

  28. November 6, 2009

Have a nice trip! I am jealous! Here in Rome, we are having a rainy week; not that I am displeased , I love rainy days; but it’s a lot of time we don’t take a nice trip!
