handmade holidays- flower monsters
2009 October 14
This colorful and very soft corduroy fabric is part of a work in progress for the holidays. As soon as I saw the bright and colorful flowers, I knew it could be used to make something really fun for the little ladies.
As I continued to stare at it, I started seeing bright colored monsters with big, bright, flowery eyes made of felt!
Perhaps, the flower monsters will look something like these-

Ooooh, just like Sarah’s monsters!! I’ve been wanting to make them, too (I love them so), but we haven’t yet! Can’t wait to see yours!
Kristen, I got the fabric from JoAnn Fabrics, right off the bolt.
I just can’t tell you how much I love that fabric! Did you get it online? Will you keep us posted as to what this project turns out to be?
What beautiful colors! This felt makes me excited for a certain pine tree felty.
I love the fabric but also love the drawings.
I love that corduroy….I bought some of it last time I was at JoAnns…I think I’m going to make pants for my little lady. Can’t wait to see the monsters!

I’ve got to post pictures of a quilt I got from a family member recently with that type of fabric – though not nearly so beautifully bright. It is gorgeous.

What lovely fabric. Is it difficult to sew through corduroy? I’m new to sewing and trying to figure it all out. How do you pick such great fabric and do you go often to the fabric store?
