Virginia to Me Is….
2009 April 24
Spending time with our favorite Virginia folk.
My Grandaddy’s collection of matchbox cars lined up along the windowsill.
My Granny’s greenthumb. She always has a little plant growing in a beautiful non-traditional vase on her kitchen windowsill.
Going to the historic part of town to antique and admire the architecture.
Enjoying hot chocolate and coffee at a hip coffee shop while Robin does some work on her computer. Granny and Grandaddy only have dial-up…….
Climbing the favoirite Japanese Maple in Granny and Grandaddy’s yard.
Treasure hunting in some of the best antique shops I’ve ever been in. I found a lovely owl planter, a Whitman’s chocolate tin, little china critters, a butterfly box full of vintage cake decorations, and 7 embroidered owl panels.
We had such a lovely trip and will be back down in the summer. I love you Granny and Grandaddy, thank you so much for making our trip great! View some more Virginia photos at Fauna’s blog.

Fauna does look like a fairy-how cute! Sounds like a wonderful visit.
What a wonderful trip you had! I love the pictures of the matchbox cars, and the bridge (it’s beautiful), and all the treasures you found in the antique shops.
I agree with Erin, coffee shops and unique shops, antique or not.
Looks like fun!

It looks like you had an amazing time. Finn would have been in heaven with all those matchbox cars. Fauna definitely looks like a little fairy.
I’m thinking you might not have been too far from me (at some point anyway). I live not far south of the VA border west of 77. We spend quite a bit of time up there ourselves since we have 2 sets of great friends in the DC area.
Fauna does look like a little fairy!
Thank you for sharing all your beautiful photos of what looks like a fantastic trip.
Coffee shops and antique stores, now that is my kind of day!
Just found your blog and I love, love, love it!
I can’t wait to wade hip deep into all the creativity!
