Raspberry and Orange Sherbet Smoothie

2009 April 14
by 5 Orange Potatoes

There is a virus going through my house. You know it- headache, sore throat, stuffy nose and fever. Araina had it last week, Fauna got it last night. And me? Not feeling very good right now, no fever though. Time for round two of this virus and taking care of another sick kid. When I am sick I CRAVE raspberries, fresh or frozen like these……

My girls crave orange sherbet.

I thought I would blend these two cravings with some orange juice and soy milk to create the perfect get well treat.

I added a sprig of chocolate mint that is now springing out of the ground, gave everyone a full glass and watched it disappear quickly. Fauna said, “It hit the spot!”

Now to go and make some violet honey for her throat.

You inspired our dessert tonight! We love to have melted dark chocolate on fruit and we made sure to pull the raspberries out of the fridge early enough that they thawed.

I sure hope you guys are tip top in no time.

Yum, what a wonderful recipe and such nice photos. I’m drinking a frozen strawberry, raspberry, grape juice, cashew smoothie right now! Made by my dear husband for dessert – yummy, tastes like summer.

Sorry about the sickness : (

I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well, but that smoothie sounds delicious. We had smoothies last night for dinner. My kids like that I sneak in carrots and greens, but they can’t taste them with the frozen fruit and apple juice. :) Feel better soon!
