Moon Gazer

2009 April 5
by 5 Orange Potatoes

Is the moon tired?
She looks so pale,
Within her misty veil:
She scales the sky from east to west,
And takes no rest.
Before the coming of the night
The moon shows papery white;
Before the dawning of the day
She fades away.
From Sing-Song by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894)

    Forgot to mention, I heard another C. G Rossetti poem (The caterpillar) and love that as well. We might have to look her up. Thanks, Lisa!
