Spring is For……….
2009 March 8
Investigating…..

Playing in a hollow sycamore tree…………….

Watching the lavender grow………….

Watching slugs slink along……………..

Sitting on sycamore roots for a rest…………….

Building fairy homes……………..

Here’s a closer look………………

And a fairy cafe……………..

Twirly spring skirts without tights………………

Daffodils reaching for the sun……………..
Waiting for eggs and baby birds……………

And praying mantids to hatch…………..

Anxiously waiting for our over-wintered black swallowtails to emerge from their warm chrysalids………

Oh the wonderful life spring brings!!!!!

Yay for Spring!
What lovely reminders of some of life’s little joys.
Looks like just the most perfect Spring time!
We had a swallowtail emerge yesterday. One more still waiting.
I just went to a conference that was all about raising your children and yourself up amidst nature, the beauty of nature, and the fact that it has all the answers. This post embodies the spirit of that conference perfectly and it is so nice to know that there are people out there living this. Thank you.
What lovely spring adventures!
nice. that hollow tree is fantastic!
I love these photos!! Especially the fairy house and cafe!!
Look at that Springness just bursting to come out…how exciting…..love this post!
How wonderful! I love the pic of the three of you in the tree
And I seriously need me a twirling skirt and time with the forest faeries! Happy Spring!
I love the fairy cafe!
Wonderful images of spring!
Spring is definitely coming to life in your corner of the world. What fun explorations you all have had. Keep us updated on the insects, ok?
Wow, what a great Sycamore tree!
And I want a twirly skirt like those.
Happy Spring.
More of your lovely photos! We like to spy signs of Spring as well, especially the bulb foliage poking up.
Oh this brought back wonderful memories of my own childhood. I used to knock on tree knots, thinking fairies lived in the trees. Also when my daughter was little, we would make fairy houses and fairy rings. (a safe place for fairies to gather.) I loved that!
Noah made a brownie house last summer in our nature circle. It’s still there:) He was really into Spiderwick at the time.
Cute photos of the girls in their skirts:)
Looks like you’re having a great weekend. That tree hollow is amazing. We had some fairy/gnome fun of our own this weekend.
oh so much fun! The cool thing about being a mama is that we get to live through childhood again…can’t wait for my little one to grow a bit more…well not too fast though.
this post stirs up such happy childhood memories. trees are such wonderful things! i played for hours in the one in my front yard growing up creating intricate roads and bridges through all the roots.
Ah, you have Spring there already. I am patiently waiting here. Enjoy! It looks like you live in a very magical place.
I love that hollow tree!! How I wish I can find one near us. I don’t really remember my childhood too much but one thing I do remember was sitting on this tree with my friends, dangling my feet or just balancing as it slopes up. Sweet post.:)
